Ditchley Group expands healthcare portfolio with unique Academic Healthcare Centre

The Ditchley Group completes purchase of Talacare Limited, developer and operator of the integrated Academic and Primary Care Centre in Tallaght, Co Dublin;

  • The state-of-the-art centre comprises approximately 7,000 square metres (75,000 sq. ft.) of academic and healthcare facilities including the Health Service Executive’s locally based primary care teams, community and regional services; 5 local GP Practices, a local Pharmacy; and Trinity College’s Department of Population Health Medicine and GP training school;
  • This marks the sixth investment by the company in healthcare facilities in Ireland, who currently own five nursing homes in counties Kerry, Galway, Cork and Kilkenny;

The Ditchley Group, a significant investor in Ireland’s health sector, has expanded its healthcare portfolio with its investment in Talacare Limited; the developer and operator of a state-of-the-art academic primary care centre in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Situated in the new Tallaght town centre, the integrated Academic and Primary Care Centre comprises of approximately 7,000 square metres (75,000 square feet) of academic and healthcare facilities for the HSE, GP’s, Pharmacy and Trinity College Dublin.

Talacare

Talacare Limited is the first Academic and Primary Care Centre of its kind in Ireland, providing healthcare and academic services in the same location.

The Primary Care Centre brings together local GP practices, HSE local services, Out Of Hours services and a community pharmacy to provide a wide range of healthcare services to the 100,000 people living in the surrounding local area. The HSE provides regional services to a much larger population from the Centre An Academic Centre has also been established to accommodate Trinity College Dublin’s Institute of Population Health Medicine, conducting health services research to international standards, and also delivering undergraduate and post graduate teaching, including GP training.
